San Fran
Our trip this weekend was a blast. We spent some time with friends in Palo Alto and had a chance to hang around Stanford for a bit. In fact, we ate nachos and drank beer on the Stanford campus. We were in the city for Saturday and did some shopping and, of course, eating. We didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked. The city was PACKED with people. I like being around hustle and bustle, but it was a little out of control. We spent some time driving around the city looking at the cute little neighborhoods, which is what we do here too. We ended Saturday night by BBQ'ing hamburgers and playing beer pong (of course I didn't play) with some Grad students at Stanford and a few other academics. The night was full of excellent conversation and of course talk of politics and religion, which everyone swears is something you shouldn't talk about, but Kev and I love discussing. Most of the people at this little shindig were heavily involved with the tech companies that rule the Silicon Valley. Seeing as though the headquarters of Google, and the owners of Google, are right down the street it makes for a small community of smarty-pants. It is so nice being able to spend time with people from all walks of life, have a beer, and discuss the most important things in life. Sadly, it is hard to find people that are well-informed and can clearly express their opinions without getting into an argument or that have nothing to back up their opinions. So, obviously, we had a good time. It is so nice to get away from everything and just makes coming home to Seattle that much better.
